Expat remittances increased 15% to SR 14 billion in March

Personal remittances from expatriates in Saudi Arabia increased by 15% to SR 14.05 billion in March 2021, up from SR 12.2 billion in the same period last year.

According to Saudi Central Bank data, expats remittances rose by 24.3 per cent in March compared to February 2021, totalling about SR 11.3 billion.

Expatriate remittances increased by 10.5% in the first quarter of this year, to SR 37.41 billion, compared to SR 33.85 billion in the first quarter of 2020.

Saudi nationals’ remittances to outside the kingdom rose by 11.6 per cent in the first quarter of 2021, reaching SR 14.87 billion, up from SR 13.32 billion in the same quarter of 2020.

Saudis’ remittances abroad totalled SR 6.5 billion in March this year, up from SR 5.16 billion in March 2020, representing a 26.4 per cent increase.
