Saudi National Day is one of the biggest celebrations in the Kingdom. Known in Arabic as Al-Yawm Al-Watani, it falls on September 23 every year. Celebrations take place across the kingdom with special events including parades, concerts, and fireworks. If there is one color that dominates the celebrations, it is green.

Saudi Arabia’s National Day: Holiday for Public and Private Sectors
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced the National Day 2024 holiday in commemoration of the unification of the Kingdom and its establishment by His Majesty King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud.
The official spokesman for the HRSD ministry, Saad Al Hammad, announced that Monday, September 23, 2024, will be off day from work for all sectors, including public, private, and non-profit, in commemorating the Kingdom’s 94th National Day.
Due to the long weekend in the Kingdom on Friday and Saturday, some employees will get an extra day off on Sunday, September 22, in addition to the national holiday. Which will be a 4-day holiday for some expat residents and Saudi citizens.

The ministry’s decision is based on Article (24) of the Executive Regulations of the Labor Law, and in accordance with Paragraph (B) of Article (127) and Article (128) of the Executive Regulations for Human Resources.
