Saudi Arabia’s National Center for the Development of Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification announced in a statement that those who harm vegetation cover in forests and national parks will face penalties.
Saudi Arabia imposes Fine on Dumping Waste in National Parks
According to the statement, dumping waste in national parks is a violation punishable by a fine of SR 500 for the first offense and SR 1,000 for the second offense, and SR 2,000 for the third offense.
Also, setting fires in places other than designated areas is a violation punishable by a fine of SR 1,000 for the first offense and SR 2,000 for the second offense, and SR 3,000 for the third offense.
Defacing public and natural landmarks in forests or national parks through writing, painting, or sculpting is a violation that carries an SR 100 fine for the first offense, SR 200 for the second offense, and SR 400 for the third offense, the statement added.
