The Kingdom’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced that employees in Saudi Arabia will celebrate a long vacation in April on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
Students of all ages will begin their holiday on Thursday, 28th March 2024 and Schools and universities will resumes again on 15th April 2024, according to a calendar on the Ministry of Education website.
Public Sector Employees
The public sector holidays start from 4th April 2023 and the workers to resume their work from 14th April 2023.
Private Sector Employees
The private sector 4 days holidays start from 8th April 2024 and the workers to resume their work from 14th April 2024 because of weekend.
The Ministry highlighted that Article 112 of the Saudi Labor law stating that every worker in both sectors is entitled to get full time leave on holidays on occasions specified by regulations.
According to the second paragraph of Article 24 of the Saudi Labor Law’s executive regulations, the weekly rest must be made up by the equivalent of the days before or after those holidays if weekends and holidays fall on the same day.
