Cold Wave & Rain in many regions of the Saudi Arabia – March 2022

Most regions of Saudi Arabia and Gulf to witness a cold wave with a significant drop in temperatures, accompanied by rain starting from Today, announced the National Center of Meteorology.

Cold wave, Rains and dust in parts of Saudi Arabia

The Center has confirmed that starting from Tuesday until Friday, the temperatures of most regions of Saudi Arabia to drop, while the parts of the regions of Tabuk, Northern Border, Hail and Al-Jouf will witness a significant drop in temperatures reaching to -3 degree Celsius.

The effect of decrease in temperatures of the northern region will extend to the parts of Al-Qassim, Al-Sharqia and Riyadh regions, where the minimum temperatures to reach 4 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorology center stated that, dust and dusty surface winds will be active in the regions of Makkah, Tabuk, Madina, Al-Jouf, Hail, Northern Borders and Al-Qassim, accompanied by decrease in temperatures, starting Tuesday. It will extend and increase in impact on Eastern region and Riyadh on Wednesday and Thursday.

There is a scope of rainy thunder clouds accompanied by active winds on the heights in Jazan, Asir, Al Baha as well as the northern parts of the Eastern Province.

The weather experts identified the places of rain, which will be in north Riyadh, Sharqiah, east of Al-Baha and Asir, accompanies by dusty winds of varying speed. Astronomically, the winter season in the Kingdom to end by 21st March.

Dust storms could lead to lack of visibility and the wind speed will reach more than 50 km/h, and its impact will extend on Thursday and Friday on the regions of Makkah, Najran, eastern parts of Asir and Al-Baha regions.
