The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia announced the start of giving the Pfizer vaccine to the age group of 12 to 18 years as per the Gregorian Calendar.

Saudi Arabia to Inoculate those Aged 12 to 18 with Pfizer Vaccine
The decision was taken with the approval of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, based on scientific research, a Ministry Of Health representative told The National.
“Only Pfizer has been approved for those aged 12-18, no other vaccine can be given to this age group. It is safe and effective for youth,” the representative said.
Saudi Arabia has so far approved the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines, which are administered free to citizens and residents.

The Ministry of Health said that this step comes as a continuation of its efforts to expand the inoculation process, after vaccinating 70 percent of the adult population in the Kingdom, according to progress in community coverage, priority categories, and availability of vaccine supplies.
