Saudi Arabia issued a royal order announced 22nd February as the anniversary of the founding of the Saudi state as Foundation Day for the public and private sectors.

Saudi Arabia’s Foundation Day: Holiday for public, private sectors announced

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development stated that all the workers (Saudi nationals and resident expatriates) will get an official holiday on Saudi Founding Day, which is going to be celebrated on 22nd February 2023 for the second year in a row.

Public sector employees who are covered in the provisions of the executive regulations for Human Resources in the Civil Service will have a holiday on Thursday too, the day following the Saudi Founding Day, as per the Article 128 of the regulations, as per the report of Saudi Press Agency.

The day celebrates the founding of the first Saudi state in the year 1727 by Imam Mohammad bin Saud, with a view to strengthening the bond between the current-day Saudi citizens and their national heritage.
