Saudization in Sales outlets and Technical inspection of Vehicles

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) announced on Monday the Saudization of sales outlets in 7 economic activities and the start of the first phase of the periodic technical inspection of cars in all regions of the Kingdom.

The Ministry of Human Resources stated in a statement posted to its Twitter account that this came up after the grace period had expired and was in keeping with the ministry’s efforts to give both male and female citizens an engaging and productive workplace, and to increase their level of participation in the Saudi labor market, and to improve their contribution to the economy.

The decision, according to the ministry, also calls for localizing sales outlets by 70% in the following industries.

  1. Outlets selling elevators, stairs and belts.
  2. Outlets selling packaging equipment and tools.
  3. Outlets selling catering equipment.
  4. Outlets selling electric vehicles.
  5. Outlets selling Artificial turfs and swimming pools.
  6. Outlets selling pneumatic weapons, hunting and trip supplies.
  7. Outlets selling water purification equipment and navigation devices.

Branch manager and supervisor, treasurer, accountant, and customer service will be the most important professions in these operations that must be localized, providing more than 12,000 work opportunities for male and female Saudi citizens.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development’s cooperation with the regulatory authorities, who are represented by the Ministry of Commerce, is what led to the Saudization of these outlets in the above activities, according to the Ministry of Human Resources.

The Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology, and Quality, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development also collaborated on the localization of service outlets for the periodic technical examination of vehicles, which includes two stages, the first of which has a rate of (50%) and the second of which has a rate of (100%), with the site manager, assistant manager, quality manager, and other positions being the most prominent localized professions.

The Ministry announced that it will offer a package of incentives and support to help private sector businesses to hire Saudis, including, assistance with the hiring process and the search for qualified candidates, assistance with training and qualification, assistance with the hiring process and career continuity, priority access to all Saudization support programs available in the system, and assistance with programs Employment through Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF).

The Ministry also highlighted the necessity for institutions to follow the rules and regulations in order to avoid the hefty fines that would be imposed on those who violate them.
